I was told that I should just start my blog, start anywhere, it doesn't matter. Take a risk, write what your passionate about and let it flow. I encourage others to take risks, so you have to practice what you preach!
Today, its that word, DIET. I actually hate the word. To me, diet is a temporary way of eating in order to lose weight. Recently, I have been asked so many times what diet I'm on...Im not on a diet! I eat real foods that are ethically grown and haven't been processed. Pretty simple yet people struggle with it. "So errrr what do you have for breakfast....? LOTS OF FOOD!" I don't have grains, bread, wheat, processed sugar and if my grandma doesn't know what it is, then you should be eating it. A piece of toast or a packet of cereal is just a lazy option. There are things such as eggs, chia, greens, homemade granolas, frittata, BACON, flour free pancakes, bananas, smoothies...just to name a few! They are all over the internet.
I don't understand sometimes why we have to wait for something to be broken to fix it. We are eating ourselves sick, then having to make a change in order to fix it. Listen to your body, fuel, nourish it and take the time to give it what it needs. You will thank yourselves in the long run when others are paying medical bills and you are still running circles like a teenager. Next time you change the way you eat, make it a change for good. You cant expect your body to keep the weight off (if thats your goal) if you go back to your old ways. Maybe change one thing at a time?
If you stuck on where to start, I would suggest the pantry. Clean out and start again with single ingredients. If its not in there, your not tempted by it. Shop at local farmers markets, they are usually home grown fresh and not frozen for about 4 months before it hits the shelves (coles and woolworths). Products are usually hand made with no nasties and your supporting your local economy. There is no time like the present, make it today.
Well hello and welcome to my blog. I'm currently travelling the globe, surfing, eating, cooking and learning whilst juggling the study of a B.Sc in Nutritional Medicine.
