Mum's Bircher Muesli

You cant go wrong with a freshly made bircher that takes less than 10 minutes to make. This is one you can make the night before and keep in the fridge for 3-4 days. It’s taste best fresh in the morning but I have used it plenty of times when I have been short for time and been working at surf events. It’s full of fibre, healthy fats, protein and an abundance of essential vitamin and minerals.

Serves 2 - 4


  • 1 cup of gluten free organic rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup fresh orange/apple juice

  • 1/2 cup organic greek yoghurt (or non-dairy)

  • 1/2 cup sultanas

  • 1 grated green apple

  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds (or desired nuts/seed)

  • 1/2 a chopped apple or orange

  • 1 mashed banana

  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut


  1. Soak oats and orange juice in a covered jar or bowl over night in the fridge

  2. The morning of; combine remainder ingredients in a bowl with the oats and serve with mint or desired toppings.

Note: Mix up your seeds, nuts, juices and add spices (cinnamon) to give it a little twist.
